Installation guide: Tobii Attention Panel Android
1. Register
1.1 Enter your email (ID) and accept the associated privacy policies.
Note: Please use the same email address as you entered when registering in the survey
2.1 Hit “Register”
2. Accepting Accessibility
This stage includes accepting a range of different accessibility options on your device. Each point of accessibility that is required for you to authorize will open one after the other.

The Accessibility Service screen should now be opened.
2.1 Click the “Enable” button
A new settings page should appear.
2.2 Find and click on ‘’Gaze Accessibility Service”
The label may differ for different versions of Android.
For Android 10 users and below, please see the image on the left.
For Android 11 users and beyond, please see the image on the right.
You should get another prompt explaining the permission you are giving.
3. Click “Allow” and enable
4. Return to the app
You should land on the Accessibility Screen again. The “Enable” button should be grayed out
5. Click ‘Next’ to proceed
If you have returned to the Accessibility Screen and the ‘Next’ button is still grayed out, repeat the enabling process.
6. Storage Permission
You should now be able to see the Storage Permission screen. Click “Enable” and then “Allow” on the popup shown below.
With Storage permission now granted, click ”Next”.
7. Screenshot Service
A Screenshot Service screen should now appear. Click "Enable".
For Android 13 users, a prompt will appear for you to click additional permissions. Click “Allow”.
A prompt should appear detailing what is required to be permitted.
Click ”Start now”.
We would like to once again point out that our study focuses solely on content linked to advertisements. We take screenshots of ad-related content and are not interested in passwords, payment information or private messages. Read our Privacy Policy if you would like to know more.
With screenshot service started, “Next”.
8. Dashboard
Here you can see the services that the app is using, as well as a switch button that you can use to disable all services if needed.
If the services say "ON", congratulations, you have finished the onboarding process successfully!
If you click the "Turn ON/OFF all services" switch button, a prompt will pop up asking you if you are sure you want to do that.
If you click “CANCEL”, it will cancel the action and all services should still be "ON".
If you click disable, it should disable all services and you will see "OFF" next to all of them.
In order to start them again, click the "Turn ON/OFF all services" switch button, and it will start entire onboarding process again.

Internet usage has increased with the app:
This may happen for users who uninstall ad blockers in order to be part of this study. Your data usage will be relatively higher compared to using an ad blocker, since ads use data when they load. We recommend to use the app on wifi if this is the case for you.
